Mr. Soddy’s Ecological Economy

Article summary:

Ecological economists propose that the economy is a real thing and needs to be sustainable. Wealth and debt need to be kept in proper relation to avoid crisis. One proposal to keep debt strictly tied to wealth would be to phase-in the matching of lending to deposits in a 1-1 ratio.

Mr. Soddy’s Ecological Economy

Very intriguing and it makes a lot of sense but do we have the guts to implement it?

  1. Have you seen the Money as Debt movie? It also has three ideas to break the chain of wealth being tied to debt. If enough people shout for change, we might actually get it.

    • Very interesting!

This is from a summary of the video on YouTube:

“Paul Grignon’s 47-minute animated presentation of “Money as Debt” tells in very simple and effective graphic terms what money is and how it is being created. It is an entertaining way to get the message out. The Cowichan Citizens Coalition and its “Duncan Initiative” received high praise from those who previewed it. I recommend it as a painless but hard-hitting educational tool and encourage the widest distribution and use by all groups concerned with the present unsustainable monetary system in Canada and the United States.”
